Kanadalı oyun gazetecisi ve televizyon sunucusu Geoff Keighley, 2021 The Game Awards adaylarını açıkladı. Aksiyon-macera oyunu Deathloop, tam 9 ödüle aday oldu. Deathloop, En İyi Oyun Tasarımı, En İyi Hikaye Anlatımı, En İyi Sanat Yönetimi, En İyi Oyun Müziği, En İyi Ses Tasarımı, En İyi Aksiyon Oyunu ve Yılın Oyunu ödülleri’ne aday gösterildi. Oyunun başrolü Jason E. Kelley ve Ozioma Akagha da gösterdikleri performansla aynı zamanda En İyi Performans kategorisinde aday oldular.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart ve It Takes Two da Deathloop gibi birçok farklı kategoride aday olarak gösterilen diğer oyunlar oldu.
Her kategorideki adaylar halk tarafından oylanacak ve kazananlar, 9 Aralık 2021’de yüz yüze bir etkinlikle bunun yanında Microsoft Theater sahnesine dönen The Game Awards 2021 kapsamında ödüllendirilecek.
Hatta, ödül töreni çok sayıda yeni oyun duyurusunu içerek. Keighley daha önce yaptığı bir duyuruda, bu yıl düzenlenecek olan törende 40 ila 50 oyunun duyurusunun yer almasını beklediğini açıklamıştı.
Kategorilerde yer alan oyunlara oyları halk verecek üstelik kazananlar Microsoft Theater’ta ödülünü alacak. Ayrıca ödül gecesinde çok sayıda yeni oyun da tanıtılacak. Keighley’ye göre 40-50 yeni oyun duyurusu olacak.
